Growth Initiative #1

The Payer Initiative

"...everything by prayer..." Philippians 4:6

  • We will schedule two to three church-wide Concerts of Prayer this year

  • We will add creative elements to the Sunday afternoon prayer meeting including: Prayer walks through the building (to pray for the ministry events which take place in each room) and “Praying with Purpose While We Walk” (This is an outdoor prayer walk, weather permitting)

  • Small groups are asked to emphasize prayer during their meetings

  • We will have a prayer room available on Sunday mornings with a guided focus beginning this fall

  • We will plan a Kids Prayer-Fest to help children learn about prayer and engage it

  •       We encourage strong, church-wide participation in the Prayer Points daily prayer guide

Growth Initiative #2

The Scripture Initiative

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable…” – 2 Timothy 3:16a

  • We will challenge one another to have a personal plan for the study and application of the Scriptures

  • We will designate individuals from within the church family to read Scripture before the Sunday message

  • We will encourage Scripture memorization across all ages and relate stories of impact in conversations, meetings and public services

  •       We will encourage the use of Bible Apps that available for phones, tablets and personal computers

Growth Initiative #3

The Community Initiative

“Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

– Hebrews 10:24-25

  • We will schedule a number of testimonies during public services. These testimonies can focus on a variety of topics:

  • “Sharing Your Story” A brief but sufficiently detailed account of how a person came to trust Christ as Lord and Savior and how life began to change as a result
  • An update on what God is currently doing in one’s life
  • A testimony of receiving an answer to prayer
  • The testimony of those who are active in a small group which displays the value of participating in a small group

  • Serving the wider community – we will identify one or two service projects that serve the city in a tangible way and schedule a sharing time to celebrate what was accomplished

  • We will identify fresh, practical ways to support or encourage ministries that promote healthy relationships (“healthy community”) such as Celebrate Recovery and XYZ (Extra Years of Zest) and gatherings of youth

  • We will look for ways to strengthen our ministry to college-age students and singles

  • We will hold a “Come Together Sunday” this fall

“He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might He increases strength.” – Isaiah 40:29

“…be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.” – 2 Timothy 2:1
